Reasons Not to Hire a Big Company for Your Next Remodeling Project

When it comes to remodeling your bathroom or kitchen, it's important to hire a company that will provide quality work and a satisfactory experience. While larger corporations may seem like the safer option, it's actually better to opt for a small construction company for your remodeling needs. Why? Let's explore the reasons.

They subcontract the work. Larger companies tend to subcontract the actual work to smaller companies while they handle the managerial aspects. This can result in a less than optimal experience for the customer. Smaller companies take on the job themselves, which allows for greater control over the project and a more personal touch. You're much more likely to work directly with the people who will be doing the work, rather than a series of middlemen.

They pay their subcontractors less. Bigger corporations tend to pay subcontractors less in order to maximize profits, which can lead to lower quality work and a lack of attention to detail. Smaller companies rely on their reputation and word-of-mouth referrals, so they take pride in their work — their reputation is on the line with every job.

You pay for their overhead. Larger corporations have higher overhead costs, which translates into higher prices. It's been estimated that customers can end up spending up to two-thirds more when working with a larger company. Smaller companies are often more affordable because they have lower overhead and fewer employees to pay — you save money without sacrificing quality.

Bigger isn't always better. With greater control over the project, personal attention, and a dedication to quality, a small company is the better choice for a high-quality, affordable remodeling experience.
